Hold onto your underpants. Best-selling authors Dav Pilkey, who created the Captain Underpants franchise, and Angie Thomas, author of the breakout 2017 novel The Hate U Give, are among the 76 authors confirmed for the North Texas Teen Book Festival, presented by the Irving Public Library.
The free festival, which is expected to draw 12,000 students, parents and educators to the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas April 20-21, is one of the nation's largest book festivals for teens and tweens and will feature panel discussions and book signings.
Also in the lineup: Cassandra Clare, author of the Mortal Instruments series; Jenny Han, author of Always and Forever, Lara Jean; Jennifer and Matthew Holm, creators of the Babymouse series; Leigh Bardugo, author of The Language of Thorns; Niocla Yoon, author of The Sun is Also a Star; and Dallas Morning News books editor Michael Merschel, author of Revenge of the Star Survivors.
April 20 is reserved for teachers, administrators and librarians, while April 21 is aimed at the fans.
