advocacy Efforts
Public policy significantly impacts businesses and their ability to operate. From transportation initiatives to workforce funding to tax law, legislation influences the competitiveness and profitability of our businesses.
The Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce is a strong advocate for business interests at the local, state and federal levels. We are the voice of business.
We have an integrated approach to developing our policy positions and then proactively advocating. Our culture of collaboration has been vital to addressing challenges in an increasingly competitive global economy. We identify priorities before each legislative session and review and adjust as needed.
Additionally, the Chamber hosts trips to Austin and Washington D.C. to ensure our issues are effectively communicated to lawmakers.
- Washington D.C. Fly-In - A delegation of Chamber investors, business executives and local officials travel to Washington D.C. to meet with federal elected officials to discuss business priorities in one-on-one meetings.
- Irving Day in Austin - The Chamber organizes a trip to Austin during each biennial legislative session. State senators and representatives meet with the group throughout the day to discuss pending legislation and answer investors concerns.
- Congressional Roundtables - Congressional members meet with member-investors in their District, sharing the latest on federal legislation and discussing critical business priorities.
