A California-based chemical distributor is working on expanding its North Texas footprint with a new campus near DFW International Airport.

Coast Southwest, a 35-year-old company with operations in California, Texas, Utah, Arizona and New Jersey, is planning an office and distribution complex in Irving.

The more than 100,000-square-foot construction project would be at 5215 Bear Creek Court, just south of DFW Airport, according to filings with the state.

The two-story office building and single-story warehouse would start construction next month, according to permits.

Houston-based Powers Brown Architecture is designing the project.

Based in Placentia, Calif., Coast Southwest already has a much smaller facility in Arlington. The 30,000-square-foot building is on 111th Street.
