Slim Chickens, an Arkansas-based fast casual chain, plans to step up Dallas-Fort Worth development this year, beginning next month with a location in Irving at 3265 Regent Blvd.
Slim Chickens serves grilled and fried chicken tenders, wings, salads and wraps.
Franchisee Courtney Lindley also has a location under contract in McKinney and two additional leases in the works: one in Denton County and one in Collin County. A separate franchisee group is developing western and southern D-FW.
“Our goal is to open 15 restaurants in the next 5 years but if it takes a little longer to find the right sites we will be patient,” said Lindley, whose company is opening the Irving restaurant.
The brand already has seven North Texas locations, and most of them opened last year:
Dallas • 9100 N. Central Expy, 75231
Frisco • 9770 Dallas Pkwy, 75033
Plano • 6100 West Park Blvd, 75093
Hurst • 1420 Precinct Line Rd, 76053
Ft. Worth • 5528 N. Tarrant Parkway, 76244
North Richland Hills • 9005 N. Tarrant Parkway, 76182
Weatherford • 1802 S Main St, 76086
Lindley and his partner Bob Gregg own the Plano, Dallas, and Frisco locations.
Franchisee Flint Harris was the first to develop the D-FW area. He owns Hurst, Ft. Worth, North Richland Hills, Weatherford and plans to open soon in Mansfield at 3600 East Broad St.
