Irving-Las Colinas: The 10-Minute Life

As the “Headquarters of Headquarters” in Texas, Irving-Las Colinas offers companies the opportunity to provide their teams with at-work flexibility and accessibility that few cities in the region can – the time-honoring lifestyle known as the “10-Minute Life.”

Within 10 minutes, one can be at the office, dining at a favorite restaurant, hiking or biking miles of trails, attending a live concert, or arriving at the region’s two major airports. This way of life helps companies in Irving-Las Colinas move beyond the standard benefits and offer employees an array of work-life balance amenities, all within easy reach.

Irving-Las Colinas leaders envisioned the “10-Minute Life” by conveniently developing the city’s jobs, housing and amenities around transportation centers that include the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) light rail system. DART’s Orange Line has six stations in Irving-Las Colinas, including the most recent opening at Hidden Ridge, a $1 billion, 5G transit-oriented, mixed-use development.

Irving and Las Colinas, the city’s urban hub, is built around 125-acre man-made Lake Carolyn. The city surprises newcomers with Venetian-style canals lined with walkways, cafes, popular entertainment venues, retailers, offices and affordable, waterfront multi-family residences.

Irving-Las Colinas’ residential areas were built to enhance and preserve the natural beauty of the rolling North Texas hills. Our city’s outdoor recreation includes 190 acres of parks and greenbelts, 17 miles of canal waterways and 10 miles of riverside hiking and biking trails. Strictly enforced deed restrictions, architectural controls and protective covenants ensure Irving-Las Colinas’ beauty, quality and sustainable growth.

At night, the city comes alive as The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory, a 250,000-square-foot world-class entertainment venue offers a unique, convertible 8,000-seat indoor or outdoor amphitheater, and Texas Lottery Plaza, an outdoor 50,000-square-foot event venue that hosts live music. The Music Factory features restaurants of every variety, wine bars, an Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, all within walking distance of the City’s hundreds of residential units, millions of square feet of office space and a DART rail station.
