The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber’s value as a resource for entrepreneurs, innovators and small businesses is due in great part by its ability to connect investors with exceptional resources like Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), a nonprofit organization that provides free business counseling to area business owners and Chamber member-investors.
Throughout the partnership, SCORE has assisted in the successful start-up of more than 50 businesses in Irving-Las Colinas. Its volunteer business counselors mentor entrepreneurs and small business owners in business planning, lead generation and vendor referrals.
SCORE counselors are successful executives and business owners themselves who provide direction regarding proposed or existing business ventures. Counseling is confidential and every effort is made to match a client’s needs with a counselor who is experienced in a comparable line of business but, because they are not financially or personally involved in your business, can provide a fresh perspective for resolving challenges.
SCORE services are free or low cost with small fee that covers the cost of workbooks and materials, and SCORE also offers Saturday workshops. To learn more about SCORE services, contact the Chamber at (214) 217-8484 or click here.
