ShareTank

The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce launched ShareTank in collaboration with the City of Irving, Irving Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Irving Arts Center, University of Dallas, the Irving Healthcare Foundation and Philanthropology, LLC.

Irving’s ShareTank provides a unique opportunity for these organizations and Chamber member-investor businesses to collaborate with and support vital nonprofit work in our community, including aiding the homeless, tutoring and caring for our students, assisting veterans, rescuing animals and promoting arts and culture.

ShareTank offers four half-day learning sessions for nonprofit organizations that feature topics like funding pitch techniques, board involvement and audit best practices, along with the opportunity to build relationships with the Irving-Las Colinas business community. The sessions also prepare participants for Pitch Day, which allows nonprofits to present their financial needs to a group of Irving-Las Colinas executives who decide which organizations they will fund.

In 2017, we continued with strong participation with a combined $30,000 awarded to the 16 nonprofits. In 2018, $38,000 went to 17 nonprofit entities and we anticipate that fund will grow for our 2019 program, this Fall.

Beyond dollars, ShareTank provides charitable organizations around the city with the opportunity to come together, learn about each other, collaborate and form partnerships so that they may better serve their constituencies.
