The Environmental Protection Agency recognized Irving this week for its commitment to double its use of renewable energy to 100% by 2023.
This announcement elevated Irving’s designation in the EPA’s Green Power Partnership to the organizational level. Established by the EPA, the Green Power Partnership encourages the use of renewable energy and the reduction of environmental impacts associated with conventional electricity use.
Irving’s announcement pertains to all city-owned buildings and facilities.
