A New Halal Butcher and Taco Joint is Now Serving Customers in Irving-Las Colinas

A new butcher shop in Irving specializes in halal meats and tacos.

Halal Cuts, which opened in November, offers grass-fed meats, including beef, goat, lamb and chicken, as well as tacos, burritos, fajitas and nachos.

Owner Essam Abdallah said he decided to open the shop because Irving and the greater Dallas area, despite their diversity, lacked high-quality halal butcher shops. “Halal” meats are prepared in accordance with Islamic dietary laws.

“It’s about time to bring a high-quality halal butcher shop to North Texas,” Abdallah said. “There is a definite market here.”

Abdallah said he decided to offer Mexican cuisine because Dallas-Fort Worth’s other halal options were Middle Eastern, Mediterranean or Asian.

“We wanted to provide the D-FW community and Irving with fresh, delicious halal Mexican food, something new to this area,” he said.
