Indian Fusion Restaurant Opens Second Location in Irving

A new burger spot in Irving blends Indian flavors with an American classic — the burger.

King and Cardinal opened in Irving in February, with burgers, wings, samosas, sandwiches and bubble tea.

Owner Gopi Tokala said the restaurant gets its inspiration from his native India, where chicken and mutton burgers are popular street foods.

“In India, burgers are pretty popular,” he said. “I wanted to bring those same flavors here.”

King and Cardinal offers those chicken and mutton burgers, but also beef, vegetable and paneer, an Indian cheese. The menu also includes Tandoori wings, spinach fritters, buttered corn and aloo samosas, which are made with potatoes.
