Irving organizations are collecting school supplies for low-income families as part of the annual “Supplies for Success” drive.
Backpacks are the most requested item, but the children also need composition notebooks, plastic folders, No. 2 pencils, colored pencils, notebook paper, glue sticks and pencil boxes or nylon pouches.
Donations can be dropped off through July 23 at any Irving fire station. Financial donations are also accepted.
In addition to the fire department, the city of Irving and Irving Schools Foundation are organizing the supply drive. Volunteers can sign up now to help sort and distribute the supplies.
Families who need school supplies should contact their school directly.
