Vizient Makes New Investment As It Expands Services In The UT System

Health care supply chain company Vizient says it provides solutions and services to 97% of the nation’s academic medical centers. And it’s deepening its reach in the Lone Star state with an expanded agreement with the University of Texas system.

While continuing to grow through investments and acquisitions, the Irving-based company announced that it has agreed with the university system to provide its contract portfolio services to UT Southwestern Medical Center, the UT Medical Branch at Galveston the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center.

“We will now be able to integrate cost savings opportunities with data and analytics solutions and market-specific insights,” said Byron Jobe, Vizient CEO, in a statement. “This approach will enable them to drive greater efficiencies across the entire health system while continuing to deliver high-quality care.”

In addition to its contracting services, under the expanded partnership, Vizient will provide the university system access to its marketplace of supply chain savings and pharmacy insights, as wells as access to procurement standardization services.
