The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce Announces 40th Class of Leadership Irving-Las Colinas

The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce announced the 40th class of Leadership Irving-Las Colinas. Founded in 1980, Leadership Irving-Las Colinas prepares a diverse group of leaders to serve as agents and sustainers of positive change for the quality of life in Irving-Las Colinas. The program serves to provide a systematic program to enhance awareness of community opportunities, challenges, and resources, as well as open lines of communication and strengthen existing relationships with participants from various segments of the community and with community leaders.

LILC 20 class announcement r0“The Leadership Irving-Las Colinas Class of 2022 has been selected based on their commitment to the Irving-Las Colinas community as well as their high potential for leadership,” said Beth A. Bowman, President and CEO of the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce. “We are proud to welcome these talented, committed individuals into the program, and look forward to working with them so they can contribute even more to making Irving-Las Colinas a great place to live, work, play and do business.”

Over the course of 8 months, from September to April, participants will explore leadership skills and how to become a more effective leader as they build strong relationships with fellow classmates and community leaders. Through lectures, discussion groups, on-site visits, simulations, class projects, and other service activities, participants will broaden their involvement in community affairs by matching skills and interests to existing needs.

Leadership Irving-Las Colinas has produced an impressive alumni community, representing hundreds of business professionals from a broad spectrum of the community, who continue to provide leadership in the region. Many alumni have become top executives in their organizations, founded their own businesses, or gone on to a career in public service. Leadership Irving-Las Colinas alumni include State elected officials, locally elected officials, veterans, educators, CEO’s and business owners.

“The 2022 Class of Leadership Irving-Las Colinas (LILC) is proving to be one of the strongest classes to date,” said Dexter J. Freeman, Vice President of Operations & Administration for the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce. “We are excited to have such a dynamic group – a group rich with personality, diverse experiences and passion – represent the program this year!”
