Volunteers Needed for Homeless Count in Irving-Las Colinas

Irving needs volunteers to help count its homeless population this month.

The annual survey is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Feb. 24.

Cities conduct point-in-time counts, which are one-night censuses, to help policy makers develop programs and services to assist the homeless population.

In Irving, volunteers will break into teams, escorted by a police officer. All supplies are provided, except for smartphones, which are needed to fill out surveys.

Participants must register on Irving’s website by Feb. 18.
