Irving-based energy firm Vistra (NYSE: VST) announced today that it has named Jim Burke, its current president and CFO, as its next CEO, according to a news release.
Burke’s appointment will be effective on August 1 and he will also join the company’s board upon taking the role.
Vistra’s current CEO Curt Morgan has been at the helm since late 2016 and will stay on as CEO through the summer for a transition period. The transition from Mr. Morgan to Mr. Burke is a product of the company’s formal succession planning process.
