7-Eleven Concept Store Offers a New Frozen Concoction

When Jimmy Buffett sings about “that frozen concoction that helps me hang on,” he’s not talking about a Slurpee.

But according to a news release, a 7-Eleven lab store located at 13635 Preston Rd. at the corner of Alpha Road that just opened in Dallas offers both the refreshing non-alcoholic, blue tongue-generating carbonated slushy the chain is known for and the singer’s purported beverage of choice: margaritas.

For Irving-based 7-Eleven, its “Evolution Store” has customizable beverage options, a cigar humidor in addition to Laredo Taco Company a south Texas restaurant concept that features tacos, a signature salsa bar, frozen margaritas and beer on tap.

The location also will feature a wine cellar and a self-serve espresso machine where 7-Eleven will test specialty items including cold foam, caramel macchiato, dirty chai (a Chai Tea Latte with added double shot of espresso), white mocha and horchata latte.
