PPP architect rolls out scaled-down Covid-19 small-business relief bill

One of the lawmakers behind the Paycheck Protection Program and recent efforts to fully fund the Restaurant Revitalization Fund has introduced a new, scaled-down Covid-19 relief bill to aid small businesses.

Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md., chairman of the Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship, has introduced the Hard-Hit Small Business Relief Fund Act.

The legislation would transfer remaining funds from the SBA’s Covid-19 relief programs and make grants eligible to small businesses hurt by the pandemic.
