Irving-Based RailPros Growing Fast, Plans to Hire 200 Employees This Year

Even a global pandemic couldn’t slow down the growth of RailPros.

Ken Koff, CEO of the Irving company, fondly remembers when the executive team high-fived each other after crossing the 200-employee mark. Today, the company has more than 900 employees and intends to hire 200 by the end of this year. Koff declined to disclose revenue but said the company has a 30% compounded annual growth rate dating back to 2005.

During the Great Recession in 2008 and 2009, RailPros grew 68%, Koff said. The company has displayed similar strength during the Covid-19 pandemic that began in 2020. RailPros provides engineering and construction services for the rail industry, including all seven of Class I railroads, short line railroads, commuter rail systems and more.

Koff attributed the resilience of RailPros during economic downturns to a never-ending need for infrastructure improvements across the U.S.
