Health Science School Takes Big Block of Las Colinas Office Space

A health sciences education organization is expanding its North Texas operations with a new lease in Las Colinas.

University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences is moving its Irving campus to more than 55,000 square feet of space in the VariSpace office campus on State Highway 114. The new tenant has plans to grow the operation by about 50%.

The new Irving location is a redevelopment of jeweler Zale Corp’s former headquarters.

Founded in 1979, University of St. Augustine operates education centers in California, Florida and in Texas in Austin and Irving.

The school opened an almost 30,000-square-foot operation in Las Colinas’ Riverside Commons office campus in 2019.

“We will provide a strong pipeline of talented workforce for the biggest hospitals and health care facilities in Dallas-Fort Worth for a long time,” Vivian A. Sanchez, the school’s chancellor and chief executive officer, said in a station. “The health care professionals who graduate from USAHS’s innovative programs are ready to serve the health care industry needs of today and into the future.”

Over the last 40 years, the school says it has trained more than 14,000 health care professionals.
