QTS Data Centers, a Blackstone portfolio company, is expanding one of its data center campuses in North Texas to meet the growing demand from its customers in the area. The Overland Park, Kansas-based data center provider is ‘expanding our footprint’ in Irving, Texas, where it has a 54-acre campus because of tenant demand, a spokesperson for QTS told CoStar News. QTS declined to comment on the tenancy behind the expansion. Data center tenants often remain secretive of where they store data, citing security concerns. QTS is expected to spend at least $331 million to build-out nearly 250,000 square feet of existing data hall space on Longhorn Drive in Irving, a suburb about 13 miles northwest of downtown Dallas, according to state work permits.
