Irving-based health care company McKesson Corporation has appointed LeAnn B. Smith as the new chief human resources officer, the company announced last week in a news release.
She will also serve as the new executive VP and as a member of the executive operating team. Smith will succeed the current CHRO Tracy L. Faber on Dec. 1.
“McKesson is committed to developing talent at all levels of the organization, and we are pleased to promote LeAnn to the role of chief human resources officer,” Brian Tyler, CEO of McKesson, said in the release.
Smith has worked for McKesson (NYSE: MCK) since 2021 and currently serves as senior VP of talent management and development. Previously, she served as chief people leader for Arkansas-based Walmart.
“In this dynamic time, we look forward to benefitting from her more than 20 years of experience as McKesson continues to address the changing needs of our employees, foster a diverse and inclusive culture and become the best place to work in healthcare,” Tyler said in the release.
McKesson moved its headquarters from San Francisco to Las Colinas in April 2019.
On Monday, McKesson announced a definitive agreement to acquire Rx Savings Solutions in a transaction that could value $875 million. The Overland Park, Kansas-based company has built patented software that provides transparency in prescription drug costs. The company contracts directly with health plans and large self-funded employers to lower prescription drug costs for its more than 17 million members.
