International Trade Development Assistance Center
More than ten years ago, the Greater Irving Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce (USMCOC), established the International Trade Development and Assistance Center (ITDAC, or the “Center”). The Center’s mission is to facilitate communication of business information and assistance between companies in Irving-Las Colinas and the international community.
The Center complements and expands the Irving Sister Cities program by focusing on international business development. Initially, Mexico was the primary focus for international development as Texas’s number one trading partner. Today, however, this initiative is expanded to markets throughout Asia and Europe.
The Center established an international trade program designed to:
- Organize and conduct trade missions from Irving as well as host visiting trade missions
- Target specific sectors or markets to facilitate matchmaking activities
- Conduct information and training seminars on doing business in foreign markets
The Center works in partnership with the USMCOC to leverage bi-national business networks with the USMCOC’s 18 chapters throughout the U.S. and Mexico, and its activities with high level public sector officials in both countries.
