Irving lies in the center of North Texas. With the region’s extensive network of highways, it is in close proximity to our region’s two major airports, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field, and Irving is also within a 15-minute drive to the downtown area of both Dallas and Fort Worth.

As the third-leading city in Texas for foreign business investment, Irving-Las Colinas is truly a global gateway. More than 150 foreign-owned companies have offices located in Irving-Las Colinas, with their global headquarters in countries including Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Switzerland and the UK.

In addition, Irving has a strong focus on international business partnerships. The Chamber, in partnership with the U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce (USMCOC), established the International Trade Development and Assistance Center (ITDAC, or the “Center”).The Center’s mission is to facilitate communication of business information and assistance between companies in Irving-Las Colinas and the international community.

The Center focuses on international business development. Initially, Mexico was the primary focus for international development as Texas’s number one trading partner, and the Center works in partnership with the USMCOC to leverage bi-national business networks with the USMCOC’s 18 chapters throughout the U.S. and Mexico, and its activities with high-level public sector officials in both countries. Today, Irving’s initiative expand to include markets throughout Asia and Europe.

Cultural Diversity

Recognized as the second-most culturally diverse city in the U.S. – according to personal finance website Finder – in Irving we embrace and celebrate diversity. More than 90 nationalities are represented throughout our city and numerous languages are spoken at Irving schools, providing businesses with access to a workforce that is both diverse and highly educated.

Irving’ leaders also purposefully developed the city’s jobs, housing and amenities around major transportation centers that offer accessibility to all of Dallas-Fort Worth and beyond. The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) light rail system Orange Line includes six stations located throughout the city, offering commuters an easy ride to and from work and residents access to our region’s many amenities.
