Child Water Safety and Survival School to Bring Life-Saving Program to Local Families in Need

British Swim School, the pioneer of gentle, non-traditional infant water safety programs, will soon get a new home in the Las Colinas area. The international swim school recently signed a deal with entrepreneur Jason Reichard to bring a needed service to local North Texas youth. In March, the swim school will officially be open for business at 1295 Kinwest Pkwy, located inside the MacArthur Hills Senior Living center.

Keep Irving Beautiful (KIB) and the City of Irving Code Enforcement Department were recently honored at the Keep America Beautiful National Awards Ceremony. The event took place during Keep America Beautiful 2017 National Conference in Washington, D.C., where KIB and Code Enforcement were among the more than 80 individuals and/or organizations from communities across America to receive national recognition. KIB distinguished itself as an affiliate by receiving both the President’s Circle Award and the Sustained Excellence Award. The Code Enforcement Department was honored with a first place National Community Improvement Award in the “Overall Community Improvement” category.

The Japan-America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth (JASDFW) announces the fourth Japan Update Symposium on Friday, February 17, at the InterContinental Dallas. This annual program offers insight into recent developments in U.S.-Japan relations and how they affect North Texas; this year’s theme is “U.S.-Japan Relations under the New U.S. Administration.” The symposium, which is open to the public with advance ticket purchase, begins at noon and includes a luncheon program and afternoon panel session.
